Carry Conceal Weapons (CCW) Permit

The Sheriff may issue a permit to carry a concealed weapon pursuant to Penal Code section 12050(a)(I). The Sheriff is not required to issue a concealed weapon permit nor does the applicant have a right to such a permit. California law has established a criteria to be examined prior to the Sheriff issuing a concealed weapon’s permit. Good Cause is not required.

All San Benito County residents and businesses are required to obtain an explosives permit. Download the following two packets:

To request an explosives permit, complete the downloaded forms and return them to the Sheriff’s Office at 2301 Technology Parkway, Hollister, CA 95023 by mail or in person. 

Secondhand or Pawn broker permit

Read the attached letter and make an appointment as detailed in the letter.

Randomized Alphabet Drawing

  • Introduction: Randomized alphabet drawing to be conducted at 11:00 am.

The Secretary of State and the County Elections Department shall conduct the randomized alphabet drawing to determine the order in which the candidates will appear on the primary election ballot.  

The County Elections Department shall conduct a randomized alphabet drawing for the office of State Senate and Assembly.

The Secretary of State conducts the randomized alphabet drawing for all other offices.   Elections Code §13112
