The County Administration Office mission is to provide effective leadership, management and coordination of County services and employees to realize the goals of the organization, fulfill state mandates, and carry out the vision of the San Benito County Board of Supervisors. 

The County Agriculture Commissioner is charged with the protection and promotion of California's Agriculture, the protection of the environment as well as the protection of the public's health and safety. In addition the Agricultural Commissioner is also the Sealer of Weights and Measures, which involves the protection of consumers and industry through the regulation of all weighting and measuring devices used in commercial transactions.

The Assessor's primary task is to determine the taxable value (assessment) of all the real and personal property within the county and for preparing the regular and supplemental property tax rolls with integrity and fairness in accordance with the California Constitution and laws and regulations of the State of California and State Board of Equalization.

The Office of the Auditor- Controller's primary mission is to ensure the fiscal integrity of the County's financial records and to provide service, assistance and information to the Public, Board of Supervisors, County Administrator's Office, County Departments and Employees, Special Districts and some regional non county agencies.

The mission of the County of San Benito Behavioral Health is to provide specialty mental health services and substance abuse treatment for people who live in San Benito County, including those who are eligible for medi-cal. 

Mission is to enhance the lives of families by providing quality child support services in a courteous, respectful, fair and professional manner. 

It is the County Clerk's mission to provide competent and quality service to all citizens, as well as visitors, by providing a well trained, informed and competent staff who have access to and use of current and accurate technology. Further, it is the department's goal and has always been to provide this service and technology at a minimum cost to taxpayers of San Benito County while preserving its vast and rich history. 

The Council of Governments (COG) was formed in 1973 by cities of Hollister and San Juan Bautista and the County of San Benito for the purpose of forming consensus on regional issues facing San Benito County. The Council continues this coordination today and is designated as the County's regional transportation planning agency. 

The office of County Counsel provides a broad range of high quality, cost effective legal services designed to promote the public service objectives of the County of San Benito, and each of its departments and agencies, in compliance with all applicable legal requirements, while at the same time protecting the County from risk and loss. County Counsel does not provide legal advice to the general public, nor answer legal questions received from members of the general public. 

The information Technology (IT) Division is committed to excellence and to ensure the business of government is efficient by providing an information technology infrastructure and systems that are reliable, long-term, financially viable, and secure. The IT Division strives to work closely with each customer department with San Benito County to identify and support information technology needs. In addition the IT Division endeavors to provide technology which improves public services and other government agencies. 

The mission of the San Benito County District Attorney's Office is to do justice, by protecting the innocent, holding the guilty accountable, securing the rights of victims, maintaining due process for defendants, and caring for the needs of the community through a devotion to truth. 

The Elections Division manages all elections in the County.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consists of users, hardware and software used for creating, mapping, analyzing and managing geographic data. The GIS web portal allows members of the public to interact with geographic data and create custom maps for the County of San Benito, Cities of Hollister and San Juan Bautista. 

The California Constitution requires the appointment every year of a Grand Jury for each county. In San Benito County, 19 Grand Jurors are appointed to serve for a term of one (1) year, but not more than two (2) consecutive years. The Grand Jury is an official body of the Court with independent authority that is not answerable to administrators or legislators. Its principal purpose is to protect the public interest. Appointment to the Grand Jury provides citizens a means to participate in the affairs of the local governments.

The mission of San Benito County's Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is to support and strengthen individuals and families by assuring safety an, promoting self-sufficiency, eliminating poverty, and improving the quality of life in the community. 

The San Benito County Human Resources Division partners with managers and employees to plan, develop, evaluate and provide strategies that support a fair and equitable Human Resources system that values employees and maximizes individual and organization performance. 

The San Benito County Free Library offers community access to a wide range of resources, including books, magazines, and digital media. Services provided include free internet access, educational programs, workshops, and events for all ages. Our library serves as a community hub, promoting literacy, lifelong learning, and cultural enrichment. Research assistance and access to databases is also provided, fostering a supportive environment for knowledge and personal growth.

Office of Emergency Services (OES) is made up of two distinct functions that work together hand in hand. As of December 2015, the San Benito County Board of Supervisors approved a reorganization of the San Benito County Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMS) to fall under the leadership of the Office of Emergency Services. 

The San Benito County Office of Emergency Services (OES) mission is to lead the San Benito County Operational Area’s collective efforts to protect life, property & the environment by developing, coordinating and managing programs that prevent, protect, respond to, recover from, and mitigate natural and man-made disasters and emergencies.

San Benito County Probation Department's mission is to serve the court and support clients through trauma informed care and rehabilitative services to change behavior and enhance the welfare of the community.

San Benito County contracts Public Defender services to provide representation to those financially unable to employ counsel and who are charged with the commission of any contempt or criminal offense triable in the Superior Courts of the County at all stages of the proceedings.

The Recorder is the keeper of all land transactions in the County.

The Resource Management Agency brings together a range of services of Planning Services, Building Services, Code Compliance, Parks Operation, Capital Improvements Services, Facilities, Housing Programs Division, Public Works Division , Integrated Waste Management, Community Service Areas (CSA) and Administrative Services to ensure reasonable and safe development, plan for the future needs of the County , manage infrastructure and County Facilities, and protect natural resources.

The Sheriff's department strives to serve the public by establishing a partnership with the community; to protect life and property, prevent crime and solve problems. 

The mission of this office is to effectively and efficiently perform the duties and responsibilities of each function with excellence in customer service and fiscal responsibility.

The role of the Victim Witness Assistance Program is to ensure that victims and witnesses of Federal crime, who have suffered physical, financial, or emotional trauma, are informed of their rights, receive the assistance and protection to which they are entitled under the law. The Victim Witness Assistance Program provides a variety of services and assistance to victims and witnesses. One of the functions of the program is to provide education regarding the criminal justice process and its participants

Across California, the University of California’s 64 Cooperative Extension offices are local problem-solving centers bridging local issues with the power of UC research. County-based staff are part of the community – living and working in the areas served.
