The voters of San Benito County approved Measure H, the San Benito Business License Tax, in November 2018. This tax took effect July 1, 2019 in the unincorporated area of the County. Businesses operating in the unincorporated area of the County are required to have a Business License on display at their principal location of operation, unless the business qualifies for an exemption. 

In order to facilitate this process, the County is partnering with HdL Companies to provide options which will make the registration process easy. The HdL Business Support Center will provide businesses with support for all aspects of the business including application, payment, and license issuance.  In an effort to make the process convenient, support can be obtained via telephone, on-line, or  in the form of a mailed application. 

Businesses can contact The Business Support Center Monday -Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (831) 233-6550 or via email at sanbenitocounty@hdlgov.com.  

To file, online, please visit https://sanbenitocounty.hdlgov.com/ and select the “Start Now” button to begin.  After completing the on-line information, it will be reviewed at the processing center and you will receive payment information.  Once the fees have been paid a business license will be mailed or e-mailed to you.
