Process

The San Benito County Board of Supervisors, has appointed the San Benito County Clerk as the lead  to oversee the redistricting process in 2021.  The Staff Redistricting Advisory Committee made  up of Elections, GIS, Public Works, Planning, and Administration will manage all meetings, coordinate public input and present the final map to the Board of Supervisors.

The process of drawing and drafting a new map, begins with our Request for Qualifications (RFQ), in order to find and contract with a qualified demographer, to assist the County with the redistricting process.

The San Benito County Staff Redistricting Advisory Committee evaluated the three proposals, and provided recommendations,  On May 25, 2021, the San Benito County Board of Supervisors adopted a Board Order, authorizing a professional services agreement with National Demographics Corporation (NDC).  

Community Involvement 

Individuals and/or community groups are encouraged to participate in the redistricting process. A series of public hearings will be held throughout the county where various redistricting alternatives will be reviewed and public input sought. These public hearings, with at least one to be held in each of the current Supervisorial districts, will be held on dates to be determined.
